Monkey Proof the School

Christ For Youth Charities Foundation provides grant money to organizations that proclaim the Gospel through practical projects. Such is the case with Mercy Smiles International Outreach.
Over a six month course, girls come and study the word of God and are instructed on how to use a sewing machine to create a variety of clothing items and other apparel. When they have completed the course they return to their community with a skill that provides an income for them and their family.
When the monkeys in the area started to tear apart the paper school building, the school was in danger of closing. We were approached to consider a challenge grant to build a structure that would withstand the monkeys destructive antics. The board members approved the project known today as the “Monkey House.”
Since the building was finished, 30-40 students attend each year, hearing and studying the word of God, receiving three meals a day and training to use a sewing machine. They return to their homes at the end of six months with both a skill of sewing and the knowledge that they are loved by God and that He will never leave them nor forsake them.
Christ For Youth Charities Foundation is glad to be able to partner with projects that help the proclamation of the Gospel to youth and children in underprivileged areas.
